Charlestown (Boston) vs. Snyder

Charlestown (Boston) vs. Snyder
June 25, 2019 by ksuth

While the Charlestown matchup with Snyder was the only game that was not played this past year due to the “State of Emergency” in New Jersey, we have invited both teams back to go at it in the 16th Annual Dan Finn Classic on January 18th at the Jersey City Armory at 12:30PM.

Coach Shelton Gibbs will bring back a strong nucleus of returnees from last years squad led by 6’6″ All-County guard Corey Manning-Floyd and sophomore point guard Shyheed Jenkins-Floyd. The Tigers had a very successful 2018/2019 and will be looking to take things to the next level.

Meanwhile, Charlestown will be bringing back 9 veterans with decent size, tremendous speed and athleticism, and a year under their belts with locally successful head coach Hugh Coleman, who was appointed to his Alma Mater shortly before last season got under way. The Townies, and the DFC, always look forward to their trip to Jersey City.

Dan Finn Classic

The Dan Finn Classic is rather symbolic of what Dan really stood for, helping others in their time of need and doing it through a magnificent sporting event.
